| This piece is a big concert opener with a fanfare set up for cornets and trombones suitable for 2nd section bands and upwards, circa 4’30”. The piece starts with the cornets and trombones playing a fanfare that leads into a lively first subject with rich sounds. I wanted to write a piece that was reflective but also forward thinking and with that in mind the piece has a melodic slow middle section featuring the Euphoniums and solo cornet. It has a big ending with the first melodic ideas making a return. |
